In a world that often rushes us toward the finish line, it can be easy to feel like our dreams have an expiration date. As an American woman navigating the diverse landscapes of both America and Africa, I've learned that it's never too late to pursue what you are truly passionate about. Every day presents us with a new opportunity to redefine our paths, reignite our passions, and embrace the journey toward our aspirations. Maya Angelou once said, “You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” This sentiment resonates deeply with me as I have taken up hobbies such as jewelry making and sewing, and turning that into a business while also importing and exporting goods and selling them from continent to continent. I'm constantly reminded that my dreams are as endless as my imagination.

My passion for travel (specifically to AFRICA lol) has become a pivotal part of my life, allowing me to immerse myself in the rich cultures of Senegal and The Gambia while also embracing the history and heritage of my birth home, America. By regularly traveling back and forth, I connect with my roots and explore new opportunities, reminding myself that my dreams are valid no matter where I am. This lifestyle fuels my desire to create a life that I don’t need a vacation from. I find inspiration in the vibrant markets of Serrekunda and Sandaga, the serene landscapes of Makasutu, and the bustling streets of Dakar. Each journey is a reminder that passion knows no bounds and that it can be chased at any stage of life.

As you embark on your own journey toward your goals, remember that the path may not always be straight, but persistence is key. One way to stay motivated is to create a vision board that encapsulates your dreams and aspirations. When I did this, I began accomplishing everything that I envisioned and put on that board. Place it somewhere visible to serve as a daily reminder of what you are working toward. Additionally, setting small, achievable milestones can help break down your larger goals into manageable steps. Try it! Celebrating these small victories not only keeps you motivated but also builds your confidence as you progress.

Another important tip is to surround yourself with a supportive community. Seek out individuals who inspire you, whether they are friends, family, or fellow dreamers! Surround yourself with only people who are going to lift you higher. Connecting with like-minded individuals can provide encouragement, accountability, and new perspectives that can enrich your journey. Networking can also open unexpected doors, leading to opportunities that align with your passions.

Finally, embrace the idea that it’s never too late to start anew. Your unique experiences and dreams can contribute to a broader narrative, inspiring others along the way. Whether you’re just beginning or are well into your journey, remember that the time is always right to pursue what you love. Your dreams are valid, and the world is waiting to see how you will shape your destiny. So step boldly into your passion, and remember, your dreams don’t have a deadline!
